home office

This home office was designed and built with versatility in mind. The room was to cater for 2 people studying whilst also be used as an occasional spare bedroom for visitors. The clients wanted stylish and be able to hold a lot of reference material whilst not being claustrophobic.

We designed the style to resemble other areas of the home which incorporated pale timbers and cream surfaces.

The solid timber desk is slim-line, without legs and appears to float from wall-to-wall. The chosen timber is American white ash, a beautifully grained timber that takes a multitude of finishes very well. The depth incorporates five drawers which open easily on hidden drawer runners. The drawer fronts have also been cut out of one piece of ash allowing the grain to flow horizontally across all drawers.

The under-desk cabinets are on wheels to allow access to extra surface space if pulled out, or for the cabinets to be used as bedside tables when the room is a bedroom for visitors. They are constructed of solid timber with easy clean white interior drawers on push to open drawer runners.

The feature shelf above is also of solid American ash timber and is set between push to open, wall hung cabinets. These are inset with dimmable lights.

The whole creates a useful stylish space.
