a classic look with curved, deep bench tops

This amazing curved kitchen was designed with the client to fit into the existing kitchen space. It allows for plenty of workspace and storage, with continual year round use.

The classic look was achieved with a limited palette: Royal blue, off white and the rich reds of Tasmanian myrtle. Most of the storage is drawer space with a few cupboards and open shelves in the island bench (royal blue as cooker).

We spray painted the doors with an environmentally friendly, water-based polyeurathane in the same colour as the walls. We constructed the carcasses using E0 sheet material.

We cut the myrtle bench tops into shape: into the hatch space and curved ends. One end resulting in an under-bench solid timber bookcase and the corner having space under for a custom-made wheeled trolley. We flush fitted LED lights into the underside of the solid timber wall shelves providing work lights onto the bench. We organised for the existing rangehood to be cleaned, extended and spray painted the blue of the cooker.

custom made kitchens:

The oval island bench is over 3 metres long with 2 heights allowing for useful flexibility when working. The central storage is open shelves under the Caesarstone top.
Each rounded end is solid Tasmanian myrtle timber; one end we constructed with timber shelves and the other end we sculpted a strong timber leg.

The new bay window incorporates a sill of Caesarstone which meets the stainless steel bench top, following through at the same level to aid easy cleaning and a contemporary feel.

The client is doing major renovations and will complete the kitchen later.
