custom made kitchens

The Black and Oak kitchen was completed in 2018 for customers here in Tasmania. The layout and positioning of colours (black or oak) was discussed, sketched out and agreed with the clients before materials were ordered and construction began.

The grain on the pantry doors and drawers is designed to follow the timber grain direction of the floor and island bench-top. Black-fronted cupboards in the island bench face the dining area whilst behind, open black shelves face into the kitchen area. We inset steel into the island bench to act as a hot pan trivet and used the cut-out from the stove top to make them a cutting board.

Myrtle and steel bench-top and shelves were made for a client who has come back to us repeatedly over a number of years. We have made a number of pieces both fitted and freestanding. The customer provides his own timber from which we have been successful in making some lovely work.

Plywood cabinets for this new residence was by request from the client. The plywood was finished with a white wash and the work also included vanities, robes and storage as window seats.
